News of the season 2009 - 2010

I shall try to translate some news... but please, help me correcting my mistakes !

February 2010

5/02/10 Hard !
This weekend the IBU Cup takes place in Bessans. A sprint and a pursuit on "my" tracks!
Even if recovery is not optimal, I chose to run, to "test" state of my form.

Tuesday, I make an intensive session to prepare myself. I am agreeably surprised by my feelings during this training.

Wednesday, I meet with great pleasure the group of the European Cup in Bessans. Very friendly atmosphere! However, my nose starts running, but nothing too serious ...

Thursday training on the stadium, testing skis... Good sensations and good shooting !
But when coming back, it hurts my sinuses, my eyes are running and my nose is blocked.

This morning (Friday), I go to the doctor: sinusitis, antibiotics for 8 days.
So I am back home at Sardières to treat me... I'll have to wait more before resuming competition
.

January 2010

26/01/10 Big thought for Flo and Merrill

The last weekend, at the World Ski cross Cup in Lake Placid, Florent Astier and
Meryll Boulangeat
were wounded.
Merrill has "taken a knee" (ruptured cruciate ligaments), and we wait for news of Flo who had surgery in the U.S. following a fall on his back.
Both are friends and classmates at the IUT of Annecy. I wish them a speedy recovery and am wholeheartedly with them.

For three of us, the Olympic dream ends for this year.

It's hard for me because these Olympic Games mean more than two years of total involvement in biathlon. I'm frustrated not being able to beat to earn my place.

On the other hand, I gave the best of myself, both for preparing this Summer and coming back this Winter. So I have no regrets on this point.
Now I know better the limits of my body and this season will serve me for the future.

In terms of form, after a pleasant week in the Doubs, my tests started to improve. Now we must "strengthen" these encouraging results.
I'm going to continue training and hope to get in shape for the IBU Cup Bessans 6 and February 7!

11/01/10 Patience...
After ten days of rest, I resumed training in late December.

Since I train in DT1 (sessions at slow speed that allow the body to recover), and I do tests of energy and blood tests at regular intervals.
If at the biological level, everything seems back to normal, the tests show that my state of fatigue is always present.

So I try to be patient and go on training for coming back in a good shape.
Morally it is extremely hard because I have a great desire to "put the bib"!
But I hope to compete again as soon as my physical condition allows.

In these bad moments, the presence by phone of my coaches and of the medical staff, the sms of the girls of the French Team, the support of my administration (customs) and of my partners, and the nice messages I receive help me to stay motivated.
A big thank you to all!

December 2009

13/12/09 Back at home
Since the sprint, I had two days to reflect on how to approach the rest of the season.
After various opinions and discussions with my coaches, the wisest course is that I returned to France to find the cause of my bad form, and especially to find a mean of treatment.
It is a difficult decision because the urge to run is there, but I must first respect my body.
I still keep the morale and hope to be at the top for the French Championships in early January!

9-13/12 Hochfilzen (Austria) World Cup 2

11/12/09 sprint
The conditions were very hard for this race: snow little slippery, soft, which brews... It has been hard for everyone, and especially for me.

I don't feel comfortable in this type of snow, and besides, the form is not there.
My mind wants the best, but my body does not follow. I am not at my level and it's frustrating. With two penalties in the shoot, I finished very far.

The goal now is to find what's wrong (with energy tests, blood tests...) and find again my usual level of skiing.

30/11-6/12/2009 Ostersund (Sweden) World Cup 1

5/12/09 sprint
I finished 48th with 9 / 10. I lost my last ball up: it's a shame but however I'm happy with my shooting, and the mood in which I approached it.
In terms of skiing, it was harder, the shape is not at the top. My feelings were not "bad", but I lacked the "juice", that is to say "energy".

3/12/09 Individual : no luck!
This afternoon, there was the individual race in Ostersund.
This first race of the season ended very quickly for me: I was obliged to abandon at the end of the lap 1, due to a technical problem!

Having had no time enough to get used to my new shoes (received too late), I started the race with my training shoes :a model of the last year, that I use every day without any problem for over four months.

Unfortunately, the sole exploded during the race, which made me fall and forbade me going on.
I'm obviously very disappointed, especially as conditions were good (hard snow, no wind, good skis, good gliding...)

Now I must look ahead.
The frustration of not participating in the individual will motivate me even more for the sprint on Saturday!

October 2009

12/10/09 : new photos !

I am happy to present you the new Bessans mascot: a very kind devil who knows how to do biathlon! Click here!

My training goes on well. I'll start next Wednesday (14) in Oberhof (Germany) for a training camp. The program is testing ski in tunnel, roller skiing, shooting ...
We'll conclude this training by short races in Arçon (France).
I really look forward skiing and finding again competitions!

September 2009

30/09/09: training in Obertilliach
I came back yesterday from Austria where we did a great training camp, as well in sport as in the atmosphere and context (the mountains of Tyrol in the sun are so beautiful!).

Now working at home before leaving on October 14 for Oberhof (Germany), where we'll ski in the new tunnel!

13/09/09 : "Conquering the West"
The French Summer biathlon championships in Arçon were an opportunity for us (the ladies group) to present our poster!

After the calendar "Oscars of the biathlon", made for the Turin Olympics, we wanted to show this Olympic year on the theme of the Canadian West ...

After finding the costumes, the whole group went to the ranch "La Ramasse " inTermignon (Haute Maurienne, during the training camp in Bessans) for a photo shoot, directed by Alexis (ZOOM Agency ).
The chosen image is then passed into Gerard Liveneau's marvellous hands for beeing treated, and then was printed by Maire editor in Pontarlier.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped us!
Here ist the result !

If you want a poster, come and see us in training or competition, we'll give you!

3/09/09: program
This month of September will begin with a week of evaluations in Prémanon (from 7th to 10th): VO2 in roller skiing, stopwatch in push, bump in running and in roller skiing, then shooting tests.

Then, for the weekend, direction Arçon (near Pontarlier) for the Summer French biathlon Championships.
We shall need your encouragements, so come numerous!
The complete program on Sansan's website.

We shall leave then for a training course in Obertilliach (Austria) from 21th to 30th.

August 2009

31/08/09 : a very heavy month!
I stood for two weeks training alone at home. Then the French team joined me in Haute Maurienne for the traditional training course of Bessans.

A nice sun, a good atmosphere, a stadium in perfect state, all was combined to work in the best conditions! Program: shooting, roller skiing, running, mountain bike...

With a work in volume, body-building, thresholds, this month was physically exhausting, but I made a good job. Now, objective recovery!

2/08/09 :back from Norway
This training course began in Sirdal, with a week of quality trainings in spite of a very rainy weather!
Then we were invited on the West coast of Norway, in Frode's "cabin".
These cabins are second homes by the sea, where the Norwegians come to spend their holidays.
We were 17 Frenc people (French athletes and coaches) welcomed (very warmly!) in 3 families. We spent a very nice evening with them, with tasting of crab! A big "thank you" to them! Three photos here.

We ended this training course by the races of the Blink Festival.
Not having yet begun to work the shootings in intensity, my legs trembled in all the shootings, what did not facilitate me the task!
I was able all the same to work physically and technically, what is my main aim for the moment.
I am now going to be " at home " for a whole month because our next training course will take place from 18 till 28 August to Bessans.

July, 2009
Here is a small summary of the month of July!

First, the school examinations: it took me quite a lot of time and energy, but in the end, I get good notes!

Then I went back to Maurienne: I began again my training and organized a training course of shooting for the young people of my club, l'E.S. Bessans (Sporting Star of Bessans).

To finish, I joined again the French biathlon team for a training course of 10 days in Norway.
